As part of a series of major reforms and initiatives, the Mexican government created the National Infrastructure Program (PNI) that outlines the major programs and projects intended for execution through 2018. The PNI is a comprehensive program that includes development projects within telecommunications, transportation, urban and rural development, energy, water, health, and tourism.
In total, the government anticipates nearly USD $600 billion in infrastructure investment to occur in this period, from a mix of federal, local and private sources.
