IEnova, which is a Sempra Energy Company, is a leader in the energy infrastructure industry in Mexico. The company has invested more than $2.4 billion dollars in gas and power infrastructure and in the next three years, plans to invest an additional $1.5 billion dollars. IEnova launched an IPO of $600 million, becoming the first private energy company listed in the Mexican Stock Exchange.

Assets are divided in two business segments:

Gas Segment

Pipelines: IEnova owns and operates more than 500 kilometers (km) of natural gas pipelines with a transportation capacity of 5.7 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day.
Natural Gas Distribution: Sempra International’s subsidiary, Ecogas, is a natural gas utility serving approximately 90,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers in northern Mexico.
LNG: Energía Costa Azul was the first LNG receipt terminal on the west coast of North America. Located in Ensenada, Baja California, the terminal is capable of processing up to 1 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day.

Generation Segment

The company owns and operates the 625-megawatt (MW) combined-cycle Termoélectrica de Mexicali, one of the most advanced low-emission natural gas power plants in North America. It is located in Mexicali, Baja California.

The company is also currently developing Energía Sierra Juarez, a wind energy project in the mountains of La Rumorosa in Baja California. Once fully completed, it’ll have a projected capacity of 1,200 MW of energy.
