Iberdrola is a leader in power generation and wind energy on a global scale and in Mexico. The company wants to leverage their experience and strengthen their strategic position in Mexico by doubling their investment in the country. During the Latin America World Economic Forum recently held in the Maya Riviera, Iberdrola’s CEO, Ignacio Sanchez Galan, said the company will bring total investments levels to U$10 billion dollars approx, an increase from the U$5 billion dollars already invested in the country.
“Today we have invested approximately U$5 billion in development projects…our plan is to at least double that figure” Sanchez Galan said in a statement. The reason Mexico is an attractive place for investments is because of legal transparency and stability he added.
“For long term investments or projects that will be there 60 years from now, stability is crucial. Sometimes it’s more important to have predictability than just profitability because without stability profitability would be an impossible calculation”, said the CEO.
Recently, Iberdrola had announced an agreement with Dynasol, a Mexican subsidiary of Grupo Kuo, for the construction of a co generation electric plant in the state of Tamaulipas.Older postNewer post
